Job Description - Handyman / Multi Trade Operative

Handyman – £15.75/hr – Bristol (Temporary)

Pay: £15.75 per hour
Hours: 08:00 – 16:00 (37.5 hours per week)
Location: Bristol West
Contract: Temporary – 4-5 Week contract
Start: ASAP

Pertemps recruitment are seeking a reliable and experienced Handyman to support a busy student accommodation site in Bristol.

The Role

You will be working room by room to ensure all areas are safe, functional, and ready for residents. Typical tasks include:

Fixing handles, locks, and other wear-and-tear items
Replacing lightbulbs and basic electrical repairs
Carrying out minor plumbing jobs (e.g. taps, leaks, unblocking drains, replacing shower doors etc.)
Repairing furniture, fittings, and fixtures
Painting touch-ups and minor decorating work
Checking appliances and reporting faults
Ensuring each room meets health & safety standards
Responding promptly to maintenance requests from site leaders
Supporting the wider site team to ensure rooms and facilities are ready for the new academic year

What We’re Looking For:

Previous handyman/maintenance experience
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Good problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude
Immediate availability
