Gateacre School is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Head Cook to join our dedicated catering team. Working closely with the Catering Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in delivering a high-quality food service to our students.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about school nutrition, food preparation, and creating a positive dining experience for young people.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, cook and serve healthy, nutritious meals for break and lunch

• Support the delivery of the school's free Magic Breakfast offer

• Assist in the smooth daily running of the school kitchen and food service

• Comply with food hygiene and health & safety standards

• Work collaboratively with the Catering Manager and wider team

Key Requirements:

• Proven experience in a catering or head cook role

• Knowledge of healthy eating standards in a school setting

• Excellent organisational and time management skills

• Food Hygiene qualification (Level 2 or above preferred)

• A strong team player with a proactive and flexible attitude
