Salary: Negotiable based on experience

Vacancy: 12 months FTC with the view to be made permanent

Hours: Monday to Friday 9am to 5.30pm

About the opportunity of Head of Buy to Let Mortgages:

We're excited to present an outstanding opportunity in partnership with a respected lender in London, who has ambitious plans to enter the BTL sector. As retained recruiters, we're leading the search for a Head of Buy-to-Let (BTL) to take full ownership of building and shaping the BTL offering from the ground up.

In this pivotal role, you'll be responsible for designing and implementing the BTL strategy, ensuring regulatory compliance, and setting up operational processes. We're looking for a proactive leader with in-depth knowledge of the UK mortgage market, particularly the BTL sector, and experience engaging with investors.

Responsibilities for the role of Head of Buy to Let Mortgages:

• Develop and implement the BTL lending framework, including policies, risk assessments, and underwriting criteria.
• Establish operational processes and procedures for the BTL division.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements (FCA, AML, GDPR, etc.).
• Work closely with internal teams (legal, compliance, finance, operations) to create a seamless BTL lending function.
• Identify and implement suitable mortgage and loan origination systems to support the new business line.
• Develop investor relations and present BTL opportunities to potential funding partners.
• Monitor market trends and competitor activity to inform strategic decisions.
• Train and develop internal teams on BTL processes and best practices.
• Drive the initial success of the BTL offering with a view to securing a long-term role within the business.

Experience required for the role of Head of Buy to Let Mortgages:

• Proven track record of setting up a BTL function
• Strong knowledge of UK mortgage regulations and compliance requirements.
• Experience in developing policies, processes, and risk frameworks
• Familiarity with loan origination system implementation and financial technology solutions.
• Ability to engage with investors and funding partners effectively.
