Job Description - Head of Copyright - Music Royalties

A well-established music business is looking for a Head of Copyright to step in on a maternity cover basis. This senior role will lead a UK-based copyright team, working across administration, rights management, and strategic partnerships. It’s a fantastic opportunity for an experienced leader to play a key part in supporting a diverse and high-profile catalogue.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and support a team covering copyright administration, song delivery, sample clearance, and neighbouring rights
Maintain and strengthen relationships with writers, publishers, PROs, and other industry stakeholders
Identify and implement income growth opportunities across a range of music catalogues
Oversee sub-publisher relationships and contribute to global rights management strategy
Work closely with internal teams including Publishing, Finance, and Legal
Contribute to broader business direction as part of the UK Senior Leadership Team

Key Skills & Experience

Significant experience in copyright administration and music publishing
Proven ability to lead, develop, and motivate high-performing teams
Strong understanding of copyright law and industry practices
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Confident with Excel and familiar with tracking or project tools (e.g. Jira)
