Head of Facilities Management

• Daily Rate: Up to £344 DOE

We are seeking a Head of Facilities Management to oversee the commercial relationships for the Property Group’s key suppliers, ensuring that contract requirements are met and that fire stations are adequately maintained to support operational response. This role requires someone with strong contract and procurement experience, capable of managing a team of facilities managers.

• Contracts Management and Administration: Full understanding and management of contracts, acting as a key liaison for the LFB, ensuring governance, and providing analysis and recommendations.
• Quality Assurance and Customer Focus: Deliver a customer-focused service, manage senior level complaints, and lead a programme of audits to ensure service quality and customer satisfaction.
• Supplier Performance Management: Oversee the delivery of all Hard and Soft Facilities Management services, ensuring compliance and quality across the services, and manage the performance of service providers.

• Experience:
  • Proven background in property and facilities management, particularly in procurement and delivery of services.
  • Experience in writing briefing notes, leading multi-disciplinary teams, and establishing governance controls.
  • Strong experience in supplier/customer relationship management.
• Qualifications:
  • Degree or further education qualifications preferred.
  • Health & Safety qualification (IOSH or NEBOSH).
  • Membership of an FM or Project related professional body (RICS/BIFM, PRINCE).
• Skills:
  • Strong leadership and team engagement skills.
  • Commercial acumen with a focus on delivering value and continuous improvement.
  • Effective communication skills to engage with stakeholders and manage diverse audiences.
• Knowledge:
  • In-depth knowledge of contract management strategies.
  • Practical knowledge of project management methodologies.
  • Awareness of equality issues and commitment to adhering to equality policies.
