Head of Finance

Venn Group is delighted to be working with a globally recognised broadcasting organisation to recruit a Head of Finance for a 6 month interim contract. This role is part of the Group Finance team, covering technical accounting and external reporting, and plays a key role in managing the group audit and year-end processes.

Key responsibilities of the role:

• Oversee the preparation and technical review of financial statements for multiple commercial subsidiaries
• Manage relationships with group reporting teams and external auditors to ensure accurate, timely financial reporting and audit compliance
• Review complex contracts and technical accounting issues, providing guidance and ensuring compliance with group policy and IFRS
• Monitor and ensure group-wide accounting policies comply with IFRS standards, communicating updates consistently across the business
• Partner with departments such as Tax, Treasury, Legal, and Corporate Finance to advise on complex accounting scenarios and support decision-making
• Oversee the group’s hedging and foreign exchange risk management program, including reporting and controls improvement
• Manage global statutory account filing, corporate tax reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, and ensure ongoing compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
• Lead and develop a high-performing team, providing mentorship and support to meet business objectives

Ideal candidate profile:

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
• Strong expertise in IFRS, technical accounting, and international consolidation, including foreign exchange impact
• Experience working for a large international organisation, ideally within the media or broadcasting sector
• Proven track record managing complex consolidation, improving reporting processes, and delivering solutions under tight deadlines
• Strong communicator and collaborator, influencing global and local teams to achieve transparent, high-quality results
• Experienced team leader, skilled in mentoring, analytics, and project management

Pay rate: £500 - £600 per day (paid via an Umbrella company)

Working hours: Full time

Working pattern: Hybrid (2-3 days per week in the London office)
