Head of Finance

Location: Edinburgh (Hybrid working - 2 days in the office)

Salary: a package of £61,500 per annum

Contract: Full-time, starting off in a contract of 9 months and the role will move to Permanent

Reports to: Finance Director

The Role

As Head of Finance, you’ll lead our Finance team and play a key role in strategic planning, financial governance, and operational delivery. You’ll ensure robust financial management, provide insightful reporting, and support decision-making across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Provide strategic financial advice to the Executive Team and Board.
• Oversee financial governance, risk management, and internal controls.
• Support business development, investment appraisal, and funding negotiations.
• Manage relationships with auditors, regulators, and key stakeholders.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the Finance team.

Skills & Experience

• Qualified accountant
• Proven experience in a senior finance leadership role.
• Strong understanding of charity finance, governance, and compliance.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience working with Boards and senior leadership teams.
• Ability to lead change, drive performance, and build strong teams.
