Tradewind Recruitment are recruiting for a full time Head of Learner Support for a fantastic FE College in the Hull area. This role is to start as soon as possible or in September 2025, and ideally we are looking for a temporary to permanent role, with the successful candidate starting on a temporary basis before moving onto a permanent contract after a period of 12 weeks. This will allow the candidate to ensure that they are happy in the role and performing well. Payment for this position will be £43,157 per annum, and it is a full time position, 52 weeks per year, 37 hours per week.

This role will involve managing a team of practitioners across all levels of support, including: SEND, ALS, Maths and English. Your main role will be ensuring that those with SEND are fully supported and receive tailored support across the college. You will also be in charge of:

• Ensuring compliance with policies and legislation
• Lead assessment and planning of additional learning support
• Manage budgets
• Work closely with different departments and external agencies including: Admissions and SENDCOs
• Support professional development of staff
• Promote equality, diversity and safeguarding

You will receive 31 days of annual leave (excluding bank holidays), and 3 additional days to be used in the Christmas Holidays.

• Have a degree level qualification or equivalent professional qualification
• SENDCo qualification
• Strong experience within SEND and safeguarding
• Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks

• Legal right to work in the UK
