Head of Services – Children's Social Care

£350–£400 per day | Remote & On-site | ASAP Start | West Midlands

Hunter Gatherer Mental Health are supporting a Local Authority in the West Midlands with the urgent appointment of a Head of Services within Children’s Social Care. This is a senior-level interim post suitable for experienced social work leaders with a background in statutory children’s services.

This is an exciting opportunity to drive service-wide improvements across a portfolio that could include Safeguarding, Assessment & Intervention, MASH, Children in Care or similar.

The postholder will work directly with the Assistant Director and be responsible for managing up to 9 Team Managers.

Essential Requirements:
? Qualified Social Worker (SWE registered)
? Previous senior management experience in children’s services
? Strong track record of service improvement and team leadership
? Knowledge of current safeguarding legislation and best practice
? Able to commit to a hybrid working model

Role Details:
Location: West Midlands (Birmingham)
Pay: £350–£400 per day
Contract: Full-time, initial 3–6 months with extension likely
Start date: ASAP
