Health and Safety Advisor

We are currently representing a client within the construction industry, in Sussex who is seeking a Senior Health and Safety Advisor to join their team on a 6-month fixed term contract. This role is ideal for an experienced professional who is passionate about maintaining high standards of health and safety and ensuring compliance within a vibrant work environment.

• Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Conduct risk assessments and site inspections to identify potential hazards and implement preventative measures.
• Provide health and safety training to staff at all levels to ensure compliance with current legislation and standards.
• Lead investigations into accidents and near-miss incidents and report findings to senior management.
• Liaise with external health and safety regulators and ensure all practices meet legal requirements.
• Monitor compliance with health and safety legislation and update procedures as necessary.
• Advise on a range of specialist areas, e.g., fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery, and occupational diseases.
• Prepare health and safety reports and documentation for management review.
• Support the continuous improvement of health and safety practices.

• Proven experience as a Health and Safety Advisor, preferably in a senior role.
• NEBOSH diploma or equivalent in Health and Safety management.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety laws and regulations.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage with all levels of staff.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and health and safety management systems.
