Health and Safety Assistant

We are seeking a proactive and committed Health and Safety Assistant to join our clients Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) team. You will support the delivery of the HSW Strategy and Policy by coordinating and contributing to a wide range of activities and projects that aim to enhance the safety and wellbeing culture across the organisation.

Working under the supervision of the Head of Health, Safety and Wellbeing, you will have the autonomy to manage your own priorities while ensuring the team is effectively supported through technical and administrative functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide administration support to the department
• Handle and process data with confidentiality, accuracy and security.
• Maintain and retrieve documents and records as per service protocols.
• Draft reports, gather data and present findings for review.
• Support the team in implementing, monitoring, reviewing and auditing standards.
• Manage the SHE Assure system and act as the first point of contact for users.
• Monitor the Incident Reporting System to ensure RIDDOR compliance and appropriate investigations.
• Manage the mailbox, triaging and prioritising queries effectively.
• Maintain up-to-date content on the staffroom and support communications related to HSW activities.

Essential Skills

• GCSEs (grade 9-4 / A*-C) in English and Maths or equivalent.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Excel, SharePoint, Teams, etc.).
