HGV Mechanic

Job Title: HGV Mechanic
Location: Leyland

Maintain and repair a fleet of vehicles and grounds maintenance equipment, ensuring compliance with DVSA standards and the Operator's Licence.

• Service, maintain, and repair vehicles, plant, and equipment.
• Perform diagnostics and specialist repairs.
• Attend roadside breakdowns and recover vehicles.
• Maintain accurate service records.
• Keep the workshop clean and safe.
• Order parts and liaise with suppliers.
• Adhere to Health & Safety regulations.
• Support apprentices and participate in training.
• Engage professionally with the public.

• Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic systems.
• Experience in fabrication, welding, and cutting.

• Collaborate effectively with colleagues.
• Support inclusive and respectful workplace culture.
• Comply with GDPR, equality, and safety policies.
• Represent the organisation positively.

• Full driving licence with category C1.
• Proven experience in vehicle maintenance and diagnostics.
• Strong planning, organisation, and adaptability.
• Commitment to flexible working and customer service.
• Qualified to Level 3 in Heavy Vehicles Maintenance
