Role: HLTA - SEN (KS1 & KS2 - Behaviour & Learning Support) Location: Peckham, South London Start Date: September 2025 Salary: £90-£120 per day Contract: Full-time (Monday to Friday) - Long Term A vibrant and inclusive primary school in Peckham is seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their SEND department from September 2025. This long-term, full-time role focuses on supporting children across Key Stage 1 and 2, providing targeted assistance on a one-to-one and small group basis. The role involves working closely with pupils who present with behavioural challenges, emotional regulation needs, and additional learning barriers. The successful candidate will support personalised learning strategies, help maintain classroom consistency, and foster a safe, engaging learning environment. Key Responsibilities:
Deliver structured support for pupils with SEND, including behavioural and emotional needs
Work collaboratively with the SENCO and class teachers to implement tailored interventions
Provide consistent one-to-one and small group support across KS1 and KS2
Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation through calm and supportive strategies
Assist with planning and delivering differentiated activities where appropriate
Maintain clear and detailed records to track progress and inform next steps
Candidate Profile:
Qualified HLTA or an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant ready for an HLTA role
Proven experience supporting children with SEND and behaviour-related needs
Resilient, calm, and able to de-escalate challenging situations with professionalism
Strong interpersonal skills and a proactive, team-oriented approach
Committed to promoting inclusion and improving outcomes for all pupils
