Higher Level Teaching Assistant - SEN Room Lead (KS1 & KS2)
Location: Islington (easily accessible from Camden, Holloway, Hackney, Finsbury Park, and Highbury)
Daily Pay: £110 - £130 per day
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-time, long-term

Long Term Futures are partnering with a vibrant, inclusive primary school in Islington that is looking to appoint a committed Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team from September. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead learning within a small specialist SEN setting, supporting children across Key Stages 1 and 2.

The Role

As HLTA, you will take responsibility for delivering lessons and leading a class of 9 pupils - all of whom have EHCPs for a range of additional needs, including ASD and complex learning difficulties. Working closely with teaching staff, you will ensure that each child receives a tailored, supportive learning experience that promotes progress both academically and socially.

You will:

• Deliver lessons and cover PPA across the SEN provision
• Adapt resources to meet individual learning needs
• Support behaviour management and create a positive, inclusive environment
• Track and monitor pupil progress alongside the SENCO and class teachers
• Provide guidance and support to Teaching Assistants within the classroom

What We're Looking For

• A Level 4 HLTA qualification is essential
• Strong experience working within SEN, ideally leading small groups or classes
• Confidence in behaviour management strategies and differentiation
• Ability to take initiative, with excellent communication skills
• A nurturing, patient, and positive approach to learning
