Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Brent 2025

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking to take the next step in your career? Do you hold a Level 4 (or higher) qualification and have the confidence to lead whole class teaching? If so, this exciting HLTA opportunity at a welcoming and forward-thinking primary school in Brent could be perfect for you!

Position: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Start Date: September 2025
Location: London Borough of Brent
Salary: £95 - £120 per day (dependent on experience)
Contract Type: Full-time, Term Time Only

HLTA role:
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting learning across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, delivering lessons in the absence of the class teacher and providing targeted support to pupils in small groups and one-to-one settings. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced TA or existing HLTA who is passionate about making a positive impact on children's learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons to whole classes across KS1 and KS2.
  • Provide small group and one-to-one interventions to support pupil progress.
  • Assist in preparing classroom resources and maintaining a well-organised learning environment.
  • Work closely with teaching staff to assess and monitor pupil progress.
  • Support positive behaviour management in line with school policies.
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents, contributing to the school's inclusive and supportive ethos.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • HLTA qualification (Level 4 or equivalent) or be working towards it.
  • Previous experience working in a primary school setting.
  • Strong classroom management skills and confidence in delivering lessons.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
