3 months contract with a Local Authority
Job Summary:
⢠Bromsgrove District and Redditch Borough Council are seeking an experienced Homeless & Housing Solutions Officer to support increased service demand.
⢠This is a 3\-month agency assignment within Community & Housing Services, working on homelessness prevention, housing options and case management.
⢠The role is hybrid, with 2 days per week on site in Redditch and the remainder working from home.
⢠The post is inside IR35 and offers a fast\-paced environment supporting vulnerable households.
Key Duties/Accountabilities (Sample):
⢠Manage a caseload of homelessness and housing options cases in line with current housing legislation.
⢠Assess homelessness applications and make legally robust decisions under the Housing Act 1996 (as amended).
⢠Deliver homelessness prevention and relief duties, identifying suitable housing solutions.
⢠Provide tailored housing advice and support to individuals and families at risk of homelessness.
⢠Prepare clear, accurate case notes, decision letters and statutory documentation.
⢠Liaise effectively with internal teams, registered providers, private landlords and partner agencies.
⢠Work to tight deadlines in a high\-demand environment while maintaining excellent customer service standards.
⢠Contribute to service targets and performance requirements.
Skills/Experience:
⢠Proven experience in homelessness services or housing options within a local authority or similar setting.
⢠In\-depth working knowledge of housing legislation, including homelessness duties and case management.
⢠Strong analytical and decision\-making skills, with the ability to assess complex cases.
⢠Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
⢠Ability to manage a high caseload in a fast\-paced environment.
⢠Confident working independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
⢠Experience using housing management or case management systems (desirable).
