Homelessness Prevention Worker- Probation Service

Red Snapper is looking for passionate, motivated people to join the Homelessness Prevention Team based at Mitre House in central London. This is a fantastic opportunity to support individuals on probation who are at risk of homelessness , helping them find stability, rebuild their lives, and reintegrate into the community.

Pay rate: £17.19 p/h PAYE or £22.63 Umbrella
Location: Mitre House, 2 Great Dover Street, London SE1 4XW
Contract: Full-time, 3 months (with possibility of extension)

You do NOT need to have worked as a PSO before to apply.

We are keen to hear from:

• Qualified or experienced PSOs, or
• Anyone with a strong background in homelessness, housing support, hostels, or community-based services, who is looking to start a career in probation.

Full support and training will be provided for the right candidates.
About the Role:
As part of the Homelessness Prevention Team, you'll support people on probation with their accommodation needs, working alongside probation staff, local authorities, and housing providers to reduce reoffending and promote long-term stability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work directly with service users to assess housing needs and provide support.
• Develop action plans to help secure safe and sustainable accommodation.
• Liaise with local authorities, supported housing, hostels, and other partners.
• Monitor progress and maintain clear case records.
• Contribute to risk management and safeguarding as part of a wider team.

• Professionals from housing, homelessness, or support services who want to step into the probation field.
• Strong communicators with a person-centred, collaborative approach.
• Compassionate and organised individuals who are committed to making a difference.
