Hostel and Travellers Officer

We are looking for a dedicated and community-focused individual to join our housing team as a Hostel and Travellers Officer. This is a hands-on role that supports residents across hostels and traveller sites, ensuring high-quality services, safety, and a strong resident-first approach.

Key Responsibilities:

• Be the main point of contact for residents at traveller sites and hostels
• Manage day-to-day operations of accommodation, including tenancy and anti-social behaviour issues
• Liaise with council teams, contractors, and support services to coordinate resident care
• Ensure sites are safe, clean, and well-maintained through regular inspections
• Support residents with tenancy sustainment, safeguarding concerns, and welfare needs
• Lead on actions related to unauthorised or illegal activities where required
• Keep accurate records and contribute to ongoing service improvements

What We're Looking For:

• Experience working in housing or a resident-facing role
• Understanding of issues affecting the Traveller community and hostel residents
• Knowledge of tenancy management, anti-social behaviour, and safeguarding
• Ability to build trust with residents and work closely with other services
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and coordination skills
• A proactive and compassionate approach to supporting vulnerable individuals
