Housing Lawyer - Local Authority

Are you an experienced Housing Lawyer looking for a new challenge? We’re looking for a dedicated legal professional to support our Legal Services team in managing a varied and rewarding caseload.

?? Location: Berkshire - predominantly Hybrid working

?? Hourly Rate: £50 per hour - Umbrella

Contract Length: 3-6 months with a possibility of getting extended.

As a Housing Lawyer, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality legal services across a range of housing law matters. Your primary focus will be on housing possession cases involving Assured Shorthold Tenancies and Secure Tenancies, alongside disrepair claims and other housing litigation.

You’ll provide clear, practical legal advice, draft legal documents, and represent the organisation in court when required.

• Managing a caseload of housing law matters, including possession proceedings and disrepair claims.
• Advising clients with clarity and professionalism.
• Drafting legal documents and correspondence.
• Representing the organisation in court and tribunals.
• Staying up to date with housing legislation and case law.
• Working independently and managing competing deadlines.

• Qualified solicitor, barrister, or legal executive with housing law experience.
• Strong knowledge of housing legislation and case law.
• Excellent advocacy, negotiation, and drafting skills.
• A client-focused, solution-oriented approach.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.
