Job Description - Housing Officer

Housing Officer (6+ Month Contract)
Location: Ashfield District, Nottinghamshire
Contract Duration: 6+ Months
Rate: £25 per hour (Umbrella)

A well-established recruitment agency is currently seeking an experienced Housing Officer for a 6+ month contract role in the Ashfield District, Nottinghamshire. This role is office/patch-based, with the successful candidate responsible for delivering high-quality tenancy and estate management services. You will ensure tenants comply with their Tenancy Agreements and work towards maintaining the estates to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage tenancy-related matters, providing advice and support to tenants regarding their Tenancy Agreements.

  • Investigate and address anti-social behavior and breaches of tenancy conditions, including enforcement actions.

  • Conduct regular Estate Management Inspections to maintain high standards of the environment.

  • Process tenancy transfers, successions, assignments, and review introductory tenancies.

  • Liaise with internal teams, legal representatives, and other partners to manage tenancy-related issues.

  • Attend court hearings and present cases related to possession and appeals.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant housing legislation, policies, and procedures.

Essential Criteria:

  • Proven experience in social housing, particularly in tenancy management and enforcement.

  • A track record of handling tenancy-related issues, including anti-social behavior.

  • Ability to manage a varied and complex caseload autonomously.

  • Strong communication skills, including report writing and liaising with stakeholders.

  • Access to a vehicle with business insurance and a valid UK driving license is essential.

Working Environment:

The role is wholly office/patch-based within the Ashfield District. Candidates must have access to a vehicle and be willing to travel as required.
