Housing Repairs Coordinator (Contract) - Islington Council
Location: Hybrid working potential (to be discussed at interview)
Contract Length: 3+ months
Hourly Rate: £22 per hour (paid umbrella)

About the Role:
Islington Council is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Housing Repairs Coordinator to join our Housing Repairs Services team on an initial 3+ month contract. This role is critical in ensuring smooth and efficient coordination of housing repair services while providing excellent customer service. You will be responsible for diagnosing repairs, processing service requests, liaising with contractors and tenants, and ensuring repairs are completed on time and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose housing repairs accurately and raise orders for contractors, booking appointments.
Handle high-volume calls, answering customer inquiries efficiently and courteously.
Provide timely and professional responses to customer queries, maintaining a high level of customer care.
Ensure all service requests are processed in line with policy, procedures, and legislative requirements.
Work closely with the Housing Repairs team to improve service delivery and customer satisfaction.
Coordinate with contractors, operatives, and other departments to ensure repairs are completed on time.
Manage emergency and scheduled repairs, reallocate tasks as needed to maintain efficiency.
Escalate customer complaints to Team Leaders and assist in resolving any issues.
Contribute to team objectives and service improvements through collaboration and feedback.
Key Skills & Experience Required:
Proven experience in a contact centre or customer-facing role, particularly in a housing or repairs context.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with customers, contractors, and colleagues.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
Experience using IT systems for raising work orders, booking appointments, and managing repair processes.
Ability to handle complaints professionally and escalate as required.
Knowledge of social housing and repairs is desirable.
