About the Role
We are seeking a diligent and forward-thinking Housing Strategy & Enabling Officer to play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering our housing policies and objectives. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies that enable the delivery of new affordable housing, whilst addressing the diverse needs of our communities across Rugby.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development, monitoring and review of housing strategies, policies, and action plans.

• Conduct research and assessments to support the Housing Strategy and Local Plan policies.

• Engage effectively with local communities, stakeholders and partner organisations to understand and respond to affordable housing needs.

• Manage key partnerships with Homes England, Registered Providers, and developers to enable the delivery of new affordable housing.

• Oversee negotiations and agreements related to affordable housing, ensuring compliance with Section 106 requirements.

• Promote low-cost homeownership and support the delivery of affordable housing projects.

About You

• You will have experience in strategy development within the housing or planning sector.

• A strong understanding of UK housing, planning and regeneration policies.

• Skilled in partnership working, stakeholder engagement, and negotiation.

• Excellent communication, organisational and IT abilities.

• A keen interest in supporting the growth and regeneration of our communities.
