Full time - 37 hours per week

£14.82 per hour + holiday pay

Our client

Morgan Hunt are working with a homelessness charity that provides accommodation and day support services to people who are homeless or in housing need. They offer a safe environment where people can develop their skills and independence to empower change.

We are looking to recruit a Housing Support Worker for one of their supported housing services in Oldham. This is a full time post working 37 hours per week and is temporary for a period of 2 - 3 months initially.

The role

As a Housing Support Worker you will be responsible for.

  • Encouraging and assisting service users, via support plans, to develop themselves and their independence within the service or by moving on.
  • Working in consultation with other members of the staff team and to liaise with the staff of other projects.
  • Ensuring the upkeep and the security of the building and taking responsibility for any cash and equipment under your control.
  • Carrying out regular key-working sessions with service users at the agreed period, to meet their individual needs and keep comprehensive records of all contacts made.
  • Issuing warnings and taking appropriate action to promote the health, safety and welfare of all service users in line with policy and procedures.
  • Supporting individuals in a way that is trauma informed and solution focused and promotes resilience.
  • The efficient keeping of appropriate records including case notes, support plans, financial and administrative records.

The candidate

  • Experience of supporting those experiencing homelessness and / or other vulnerabilities i.e poor mental health, substance misuse, offending behaviour.
  • A flexible approach to work as you will be required to work between projects where needed.
  • Experience of lone working within an accommodation-based service.
  • Experience of managing a caseload, completing assessments and support plans to achieve positive outcomes.
  • A good understanding of safeguarding and what to do if any safeguarding concerns arise.
  • As a Project Worker you will need an Enhanced DBS on the update service.
