Job Description - HR Advisor

HR Advisor - Maternity Cover Contract

Building & Construction Sector | Hemel Hempstead | £34,000 - £38,000 PA

The Opportunity

This HR Advisor position offers the chance to make a real impact within a growing company in the building and construction industry. Based in Hemel Hempstead, you'll be supporting the full employee lifecycle while providing essential first and second-line employee relations support.

As an HR Advisor in this thriving building and construction sector business located in Hemel Hempstead, you'll be instrumental in delivering exceptional employee experiences and embedding company values across all operations.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Relations & Support:

  • Provide first and second-line HR support for employee queries and requests
  • Support performance management, disciplinary, and grievance processes
  • Conduct employee relations investigations and provide guidance on complex matters
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation, GDPR, and Right to Work requirements

Recruitment & Onboarding:

  • Manage full-cycle onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring seamless new joiner experiences
  • Draft and issue employment contracts and offer letters with accuracy
  • Coordinate recruitment activities including job postings and candidate communications
  • Lead exit interviews and offboarding processes

HR Administration:

  • Maintain comprehensive HR system records for starters, leavers, and changes
  • Partner with Payroll to ensure accurate processing of employee data
  • Manage reward and recognition programmes
  • Track and manage probation periods and contract changes
Essential Requirements
  • Proven experience as an HR Advisor with strong employment law knowledge
  • Proficiency in HR systems and Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of Right to Work legislation
