Job Description - Humanities Teacher

Humanities Teacher - Hillingdon
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Permanent or Long-Term (via agency)
Salary: MPS/UPS - Outer London Allowance

A welcoming and high-achieving secondary school in Hillingdon is looking to appoint a Humanities Teacher from September 2025. This is a full-time opportunity, available on either a permanent contract or long-term supply via agency, depending on the successful candidate's preference.

The school has a strong academic record and a reputation for pastoral care, inclusivity, and student engagement. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching one or more Humanities subjects such as History, Geography, or RE across KS3 and KS4. KS5 teaching may be available for suitably experienced applicants.

Humanities Teacher - Key Responsibilities
* Teach one or more Humanities subjects (History, Geography, RE) at KS3 and KS4
* Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that develop students' knowledge, critical thinking, and written communication
* Promote an inclusive and respectful classroom environment that encourages student curiosity and confidence
* Work collaboratively within a supportive Humanities department
* Contribute to extra-curricular activities, enrichment trips, or themed curriculum days

Person Specification:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

* Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills
