Import & Export Compliance Specialist | £35k - £40k | 12 month contract | £17.95 to £20.52 per hour
Heanor, Derbyshire | Hybrid upon completion of probation
8.30am-5pm Monday to Thursday with a 45 minute lunch break & 8.30-15.45pm on Fridays

Are you an experienced Import & Export Compliance professional looking for your next challenge? We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Import & Export Compliance Specialist to join a business based in Heanor for a 12-month contract on a temporary basis. In this role, you will ensure compliance with UK and international trade regulations, manage export documentation, and conduct compliance audits. If you possess experience of implementing customs processes and have a passion for regulatory compliance, we want to hear from you!

What we're looking for:

• A Bachelor's degree in International Trade, Business Administration, or a related field (professional export compliance qualifications preferred)
• Minimum 3 years in import/export compliance or a related field, with strong knowledge of UK trade laws and international regulations
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to work independently
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with import/export compliance software and tools is a plus

The finer elements of the role include:

• Ensure import & export activities comply with UK laws, international regulations, and company policies
• Prepare and review export and import documentation, including licenses, shipping documents, and customs declarations
• Conduct audits to identify and mitigate compliance risks
• Collaborate with logistics, sales, procurement, and finance teams to provide guidance on compliance matters
• Educate staff on import & export regulations and best practices
• Identify potential compliance risks and develop mitigation strategies
• Act as a key point of contact for regulatory authorities, customers, suppliers, and customs agents
• Maintain accurate records of import & export transactions and compliance activities
