Infrastructure Architect (Hardware & Cloud) - Contract - Remote

Method is looking for an experienced Solution Architecture Consultant to support the design and delivery of secure, scalable, and cost-effective infrastructure and cloud solutions on a services-based engagement. This is a 9-month contract operating outside IR35, focused on Azure Local deployments and associated infrastructure.

This will be a remote first role with occasional (once a month) site travel.

About the Role

The consultant will be responsible for:

• Designing infrastructure and cloud architecture solutions (primarily Azure Local).
• Leading client workshops and producing clear, structured HLDs, LLDs, and implementation guides.
• Supporting standard infrastructure sizing and validation (HPE/Dell).
• Planning and supporting Azure Local deployments with Azure AD (EntraID) and Azure Lighthouse.
• Providing technical leadership across architecture governance, installation (via OEM partners), and environment validation.
• Producing documentation to support delivery and service transition.
• Coordinating site surveys and installations with third-party suppliers.
• Advising on compliance, risk, and technical strategy for cloud and infrastructure transformation.

Key Skills & Experience

• 8-10+ years in infrastructure and cloud architecture roles.
• Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure, including EntraID (Azure AD), Azure Lighthouse, compute, and networking.
• Experience with VMware, SAN/NAS (NetApp, Isilon), and Windows/Linux virtualisation.
• Knowledge of HPE/Dell platforms, OEM delivery models, and secure networking (Cisco, F5).
• Comfortable working in regulated environments with compliance constraints.
• Strong written communication - able to produce high-quality HLDs, LLDs, SOPs, and implementation docs.
• Certifications such as AZ-305, TOGAF, or similar are desirable.
