Infrastructure Engineer

Your new company
Currently working exclusively with one of London's largest boroughs who are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to support key cloud infrastructure projects within a local government environment. This role is designed to deliver targeted project work, enabling the permanent staff to maintain critical BAU services across the council's digital estate.

The role:

• Type: Contract
• Day Rate: £400 - £500 per day inside IR35
• Location: London (Hybrid)
• Length: Initial 6 months (strong chance of extension)

Key Responsibilities within the role:

• Work alongside permanent IT staff to ensure BAU work is maintained without disruption
• Implement scalable and secure Azure environments for services supporting residents and council departments
• Contribute to automation and modernisation initiatives using PowerShell, ARM templates, Terraform etc
• Support cloud migration efforts for legacy on-premise systems
• Adhere to public sector governance, GDPR compliance, and security standards

What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will have the following:

• Proven experience deploying and managing Microsoft Azure infrastructure within the public sector
• Ability to navigate the dynamics of supporting project delivery while protecting live council services
• Familiarity with UK local government regulations, ITIL best practices, and relevant compliance frameworks
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-departmental stakeholders

Current or previous local government experience is highly desired.
