Infrastructure L3 Engineer Server Hyper-V VMware Storage

Our prestigious Global Investment Bank client is looking for an IT Infrastructure Platforms Windows & Storage L3 Engineer to join its IT Production Services (ITS) team as an IT Infrastructure L3 Engineer. This role is crucial within the global UK Infrastructure Platforms team, providing platform and infrastructure management to all of the Global Markets Division’s front office electronic trading systems. This includes approximately 1000+ systems running Windows and Linux.

• Strong experience in production installation and management of Microsoft Windows Server, Clusters, Hyper-V, Active Directory, VMware, HP Proliant, HP Storage (Alletra, Primera), and Dell PowerScale.
• Proficient in scripting – PowerShell and Python are particularly advantageous.
• Working knowledge of HPE Simplivity, CyberArk, and Device42 would be beneficial.
• ITIL certification and knowledge of Lean Management Methodology or equivalent is preferred.

  Day-to-day of the role: to join 
• Deliver regional components of global electronic markets infrastructure projects.
• Work with counterparts in other locations to offer a seamless follow-the-sun support model, managing global technical issues in remote locations during core hours.
• Ensure proper monitoring and capacity planning of local systems as part of the global framework.
• Resolve issues on the local eBusiness infrastructure hub.
• Install and configure storage, SAN, and layered products.
• Participate in the on-call rota and expect weekend work approximately 1 in 4 weekends.

Specific Requirements:

• Participation in a shift pattern covering hours from 0700-1800.
• On-call duties provided by the team.
• Flexible working between the office and home, with occasional weekend work.
