Make a real difference in the lives of children, young people and families.
We’re looking for a passionate and committed Inreach / Outreach Support Worker to join Shropshire Council’s People Directorate. You’ll play a vital role in supporting children on the edge of care, children in care, and those transitioning back to family settings or into independent living.

This is a rewarding, varied role where no two days are the same – perfect for someone with a strong background in family support, youth work, or social care who’s ready to hit the ground running.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Providing direct support to children, young people and families – at home, in school, or within the community.
  • Working with children on the edge of care to help prevent unnecessary entry into the care system.
  • Supporting safe and sustainable reunification with families or transitions into independent living.
  • Using a range of tools, including therapeutic approaches, restorative practice, and parenting programmes.
  • Supporting young people to engage in education, training, or employment.
  • Attending and contributing to multi-agency meetings, including health and education reviews.
  • Keeping accurate records of all interventions and progress.
About you:

You’ll need experience working with vulnerable children, young people or families, ideally in a similar outreach or support role. You’ll also be:
  • A confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills
  • Resilient, adaptable, and calm under pressure
  • Skilled in engaging with families from diverse backgrounds
  • Organised, with the ability to manage a busy caseload
  • Willing to work flexibly, including occasional on-call support or backup to residential services when needed

If you are interested or know of anyone who may be, send your CV to Kat at Service Care Solutions on or email me at .uk.

Service Care Solutions also offers a £250 referral bonus! So if you know of anyone who would be perfect for this position and they are placed into work, you will receive £250 for the referral once their probationary period has been completed.
