Interim Accountant

• Reporting To: Management Accountant
• Rate: Up to £18 per hour umbrella

Overview:

Hays are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to support our organisations Senior Management Accountant, who requires support in finalising the year-end management accounts. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a dynamic finance team during a critical reporting period.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and finalisation of year-end management accounts
• Reconcile three key historic accounts within the company's Xero accounting system
• Process and validate financial data to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Provide ad hoc financial support and analysis as required by the Management Accountant
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and support audit readiness

About You

• Experience working with Xero or similar accounting software
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to financial reconciliation
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Previous experience in a finance or accounting support role, particularly during year-end, is desirable
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Working Practices

• Likely to be hybrid working (mix of office and remote), but this is to be confirmed
• Based in Exeter, Devon
