Interim Assistant Management Accountant

We are delighted to be partnering with Papworth Trust in Cambridgeshire to recruit an Interim Assistant Management Accountant. This role will be for initially 6 months. On offer is £22 - £26 per hour (umbrella), 37.5 hours per week, and hybrid working.

In 2017, Papworth Trust celebrated its 100th anniversary. Starting in 1917 as a tuberculosis settlement, they have always worked with disabled people.

For the last 50 years, they have offered essential services to disabled and older people including care and support, leisure and learning activities, help with work and training and rehabilitation.

Interim Assistant Management Accountant:

• Managing cashbook & banking - dealing with cheques.
• Bank reconciliations.
• Cash flow modelling.
• Produce the management accounts for the Facilities Directorate.
• Balance sheet reconciliations.
• Taking phone payments from customers.
• Completing processes on the Trust's eBIS P2P system.
• Processing direct debits.
• Dealing with petty cash.
• Quarterly VAT returns.
• Support with month end tasks.
• Input information onto their finance system, Open Accounts.
• Support the Head of Finance with adhoc duties.

Interim Assistant Management Accountant:

• Ideally, you will be Part qualified in ACA, ACCA, CGMA/CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent. Note, AAT qualified may also be considered.
• It is essential you are able to prepare a set of management accounts.
• A track record of completing bank reconciliations and month end tasks is essential.
• Knowledge of VAT returns would be advantageous.
• Proven experience managing cashbook, dealing with petty cash and cheques.
• An effective telephone manner is critical to take phone payments from customers.
• Previous knowledge of Open Accounts and eBIS systems is desirable.
• Ability to work autonomously is crucial to be considered for this role.

• £22 - £26 per hour (umbrella). Note, a fixed term appointment may also be considered.
• 37.5 hours a week.
• Hybrid working.
• Office location - Bradbury Place, Saxongate, Huntingdon PE29 3RR.
• Initial 6 month contract.
• Start mid-April 2025.
