Interim Finance Director | Series A Backed Music SaaS Scale Up | 6 Month Contract

Harmonic are partnering with one of the UK's leading Music SaaS Scale Ups, in the search for an Interim Finance Director following a successful Series A fundraise. This is a newly created role with real influence and exposure at board level. This is a 6 month initial contract, Outside IR35, with a strong likelihood of extending.

With a focus on offering solutions to rights owners and users in the music space, our client operates a platform to facilitate the management of assets, IP, metadata and royalties, providing a comprehensive range of tools specifically tailored to their individual artist's needs.

The business employs a subscription-based revenue model, offering flexible and scalable solutions for clients which have ranged from independent labels to some of the largest players within the music space. The founder has also tapped into some exciting partnerships over the last few years, partnering with music AI start ups to ensure artists are maximising their revenue and unlocking new income streams.

With revenue at circa £12 million and growing year on year, and headcount forecasted to increase by 25% over the next 12 months, this is a truly exciting period for the business, offering real opportunities to add value on this growth journey.

The Role:

Reporting into a Founder and CEO with both investment backgrounds as well as in music, this role will be responsible for a range of duties, including the successful integration and allocation of income from their recent funding round. You will also be responsible for overseeing the smooth running of the finance function whilst playing an integral part of both Commercial and Strategic decisions.

Duties:

• Producing monthly and year end reports as well as oversight of management accounts
• Commercial support, strategic analysis and decision support to the SLT
• Business partnering with SLT
• Managing the P&L and balance sheet
• Build relationships with external accounts and assist with queries
• Improve the quality of variance analysis and assessing time utilisation
• Leading the growth strategy from a finance perspective
• Build and re-structure a best in class finance function making improvements,
• Implementing new processes and assessing efficiency of systems

What we need to see (essential):

• ACCA, CIMA, ACA Qualified
• Creative industries background (Music, TV&Film, Live Entertainment, Marketing / PR Agencies)
• Scale up journey experience

What we need to see (bonus):

• Royalty accounting experience

Day Rate: £600 - £850 (Outside IR35)

Contract Length: 6 months (potential to extend)

Location: Central London (2 days in office, 3 days WFH)
