Job Description - Interim Finance Manager

Interim Finance Manager
Torbay, Devon
£40,000 - £45,000 per annum

Lloyd Barnes Recruitment is pleased to partner with a dynamic and growing organisation based in Torbay, who is currently seeking an Interim Finance Manager for a long-term assignment. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on finance professional to step into a pivotal role, supporting a team through a period of change and transformation.

As Interim Finance Manager, you will play a key role by managing core accounting functions and ensuring robust financial controls, strengthening the finance team and allowing staff to focus on key projects. You will lead and develop a small team, oversee treasury and expenses across a multi-company environment. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced candidate who can quickly adapt to established systems and processes, drive effective reporting and performance monitoring, and confidently take ownership from day one.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead core finance operations, including transactional processes, to strengthen team efficiency and resilience.
  • Oversee treasury activities, including multi-currency and intercompany transactions.
  • Ensure effective expense management and maintain strong financial controls.
  • Manage and develop a small finance team, including involvement in recruitment and onboarding.
  • Track and report on key financial metrics and performance indicators.
  • Conduct financial analysis and prepare control-focused reports to support decision-making.
  • Review and enhance finance processes to ensure they remain effective and compliant in a dynamic environment.
  • Contribute to business-wide change initiatives, offering financial insight and operational support.

About You:

  • Previous experience in a similar finance role, with a strong track record of delivering accurate and timely financial support.
  • ACCA, CIMA, or ACA qualified/part-qualified, AAT qualified, or qualified by experience (QBE).
  • Quick to adapt to new systems, processes, and technologies, with a proactive approach to learning and improvement.
  • A confident and supportive people manager with experience leading and developing high-performing finance teams.
  • Skilled at guiding teams through periods of change, with a calm and solutions-focused mindset.
