Job Description - Interim Financial Accountant - Hybrid

Job Title: Financial Accountant - 6 Month Contract | London

Morgan McKinley are supporting a well-established Legal Services business during an important period of development and are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant for a 6-month fixed term contract.

This is a hands-on, delivery-focused position suited to someone who can step in quickly, maintain a strong control environment, and operate confidently within a busy, commercially focused London finance team.

This role is paying £400 a day (Inside IR35), initially on a 6-month basis with hybrid working available.

Key Responsibilities

Production of audited financial statements under FRS 102
Working closely with auditors and international finance teams to ensure a smooth audit process
Supporting bank covenant reporting
Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations
Supporting month-end close, management accounts and forecasting
Partnering with business services leaders to understand financial performance and control costs
Preparing and reconciling VAT returns
Managing intercompany reconciliations
Reviewing and approving payments across office and client accounts
Producing commission reporting for fee earners
Working with the tax team on partner matters and ad hoc projects
Supporting finance improvement initiatives and overseas integration work

Must Haves

Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with minimum 2 years PQE
Strong knowledge of UK GAAP / FRS 102
Excellent Excel skills and strong systems literacy
Experience working in a fast-paced finance environment with multiple stakeholders
Highly organised, detail-oriented and able to manage competing priorities
Confident communicator with a proactive, commercial approach
Experience within a law firm or professional services environment (desirable)
