Interim Financial Controller

Accountable Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a well-established organisation based in Manchester who are seeking to appoint an experienced Interim Financial Controller to join the team on a 6-month fixed-term contract.

This is a fully on-site role (with free parking), ideal for a hands-on, commercially minded accountant who enjoys being at the heart of the business and leading a proactive finance team.

Salary/Benefits:

• Up to £80,000 per annum
• 6-month fixed-term contract
• 5 days on-site in Manchester
• Free on-site parking

Job Duties:

• Lead, manage, and develop a finance team of five
• Oversee the production of monthly management accounts
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end close processes
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Produce statutory accounts and liaise with external auditors
• Maintain robust financial controls and compliance processes
• Support cash flow forecasting and working capital management
• Partner with department heads to support financial decision-making
• Drive improvements in financial systems, reporting and processes
• Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and support key business projects

Ideal experience:

• Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
• Proven experience in a Financial Controller role
• Strong technical accounting and reporting knowledge
• Confident managing and mentoring a finance team
• Hands-on, proactive and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Strong Excel and financial systems skills
