Interim Financial Controller - Glasgow (Hybrid/Remote) | 6-Month Contract

iMultiply are delighted to be working with a high-growth business is seeking an experienced Interim Financial Controller to provide immediate financial leadership during a pivotal phase of expansion.

The Role:

As Interim Financial Controller, you will take ownership of the finance function, designing and implementing the systems, controls, and reporting frameworks needed to support sustainable growth. This is a hands-on, strategic role working closely with the board and founders to guide the business through its next investment phase.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and implement robust financial systems, controls, and reporting structures
• Lead cash flow management, budgeting, and forecasting
• Ensure compliance with VAT, CIS, and statutory obligations
• Support funding activities, including financial modelling and due diligence
• Provide strategic financial insight to support growth and risk management
• Liaise with investors, banks, and auditors on financial reporting
• Develop KPIs and dashboards for operational and board-level reporting
• Prepare the business structurally and financially for future investment

Candidate Profile:

• Proven experience in senior finance roles within scaling SMEs or high-growth environments
• Strong technical grounding in financial operations and commercial finance
• Demonstrated ability to build systems and processes from the ground up
• Comfortable operating autonomously in a startup-style setting
• Experience with funding rounds, investor relations, or PE-backed businesses
• Sector experience in renewables, infrastructure, or energy is advantageous
• ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified; proficient in Excel and financial systems (Sage a plus)
