Interim Head of Finance Business Partnering

Robertson Bell are delighted to be working with a leading government department as they recruit an experienced Interim Head of Business Partnering for an initial 6-month contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead and develop a high-performing business partnering function, providing strategic financial insight and support to senior stakeholders across the organisation.

The role
Reporting into the Finance Director, you will:

• Lead and manage a team of qualified and part-qualified Finance Business Partners.

• Drive the delivery of high-quality financial analysis, insight and forecasting.

• Act as a key advisor to senior leadership, shaping financial strategy and decision making.

• Embed strong business partnering principles, ensuring finance is seen as a trusted partner across the organisation.

• Oversee the FP&A cycle, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.

The successful candidate will:

• Be a fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent).

• Bring extensive FP&A and finance business partnering experience.

• Have a proven track record of working in a central government department or arm’s-length body.

• Demonstrate exceptional leadership skills with experience managing qualified and part-qualified staff.

• Be confident operating in a complex stakeholder environment with the ability to influence and challenge at a senior level.
