Interim Head of Reporting

This role is an exciting opportunity to lead the reporting function within a well-established and forward-thinking organisation. The team is responsible for delivering management accounts, insightful management reporting, and financial forecasting. Your role will be to lead and empower this high-performing team, identifying immediate improvements to processes and reporting outputs, and ensuring systems are being utilised to their full potential.

The role is offered on an initial 3–6 month basis, with presence in the Midlands office ideally once per week—though candidates further afield will still be considered where experience is closely aligned.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the Reporting team to deliver accurate and timely management accounts and forecasts
• Identifying “quick wins” to streamline reporting processes and outputs
• Enhancing the use of finance systems to drive better insight and reporting capabilities
• Ensuring reporting timelines are met and outputs are meaningful to stakeholders
• Supporting the development and motivation of the reporting team through a time of change

To be considered, you’ll need to:

• be a fully qualified accountant (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with extensive experience in finance leadership roles.
• Have prior experience within the social housing sector — ideally gained in a large, complex environment, showing a track record of improving reporting functions, getting the best from finance teams, and ensuring data is turned into useful insight.
