Job Description - Interim Human Resources Manager

Interim Human Resources Manager
  • Day Rate: Up to £300 per day
  • Location: Predominantly based in Kingston with occasional travel to other sites
  • Job Type: Full-time

Join our Human Resources Directorate and contribute to the provision of a comprehensive and high-quality HR service across the Group. This role offers the opportunity to support managers in achieving operational targets and objectives while ensuring compliance with statutory guidelines and best practices.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide advice and guidance on a wide range of HR issues to support the delivery of service plans.
  • Assist with project-based activities linked to the Group’s Strategic Plan, Risk Register, and HR Operational Plan.
  • Handle specific employee issues including grievances, disciplinaries, capability, and absence management.
  • Undertake job evaluations, ensuring adherence to the Group’s job evaluation arrangements.
  • Conduct induction sessions for new staff and coordinate arrangements for ongoing staff support.
  • Keep updated with changes in legislation and assist in the development of the Group’s HR policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and assess performance management cases and staff welfare through termly review meetings.
  • Provide management information on HR functions and maintain a case log for performance management and sickness absence.
  • Assist with the monitoring and review of costs associated with HR functions to ensure budget compliance.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • A person-centred approach to leadership and management of change.
  • Proven ability to act as an adviser to managers on staffing issues and conduct.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Experience in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures.
  • Proficient in managing a range of HR projects and employee relation casework.
  • Excellent customer service, numerical, and analytical skills.
  • Associate membership of the CIPD or working towards gaining the CIPD Level 7 Qualification with significant experience in a similar level HR role.
