Interim Internal Audit Manager

A leading London city-based insurance company is recruiting for an Internal Manager for a 12-month fixed term contract.

As an Internal Audit Manager, you will oversee the end-to-end process for each audit and play a crucial role in ensuring the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and governance processes. You will work within a team of experienced auditors, conduct comprehensive audits across the business, and provide actionable insights to enhance the overall control environment.

You will contribute to the development and execution of the risk-based audit plan, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and regulatory requirements, review documentation and engage with stakeholders to understand key risks, processes and controls in areas being audited, prepare Audit Planning Documents and Terms of Reference for review by the Senior Audit Manager and/or Head of Internal Audit, perform walkthroughs and develop Risk and Control Matrices for each audit, execute audit testing, identifying weaknesses in internal controls and opportunities for improvement, draft audit reports and present key findings and recommendations to management, collaborate with various departments to ensure implementation of audit recommendations and monitor progress, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by improving audit processes and initiatives.

Applicants must have a professional certification such as ACA, CIA, or equivalent, have several years of hands-on experience in internal auditing within the insurance industry, possess a robust understanding of auditing standards, risk management, and internal control frameworks, have an analytical approach to problem-solving and willing to be hands-on in the process, and have the ability to exercise initiative to progress audit assignments.
