Interim Management Accountant

My client, a small Housing Association in East London, is recruiting an Interim Management Accountant on a six-month contract. This is a varied position that combines core management accounting with Housing-specific responsibilities. The role plays a crucial part in supporting key departments across the business, ensuring accurate reporting, and identifying areas for financial improvement.

Key responsibilities include:

• Partnering with teams in Property Services and Neighbourhoods to support effective budgeting and forecasting.
• Taking ownership of service charge accounting and reporting.
• Supporting and reviewing payment runs, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Working closely with transactional finance to identify and implement process improvements.
• Contributing to the delivery of the monthly management accounts.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Management Accountant with Housing experience to contribute meaningfully to a small, purpose-driven organisation going through a period of change. You’ll be working as part of a close-knit team with visibility across the business.

The role is based in East London, working on a hybrid pattern, with immediate availability to start.

• Experience as a Management Accountant within the Housing sector is essential.
• Understanding of service charge accounting (ideal) and working with operational budget holders.
• Ideally fully qualified (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent), though strong finalist candidates will be considered.
• Hands-on, process-improvement mindset with excellent communication skills.
