Interim Management Accountant

Job: Interim Management Accountant (Minimum 12 Month FTC)

Location: Hertford, Hertfordshire

Salary: 45k-55k

Length of contract: 12 months

An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Management Accountant to join a dynamic team in Hertford. This role is ideal for a finance professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and wants to play a key role in driving accurate financial reporting and supporting strategic decision making.

Responsibilities include:

• Producing monthly management accounts, including P&L statements, balance sheets and reconciliations
• Conducting variance analysis to budgets and forecasts
• Supporting and assisting with internal and external auditing
• Supporting the year-end audit process, coordinating with external auditors
• Responding to internal and external queries and requests
• Monitoring and reviewing purchase and sales ledger transactions; preparing VAT returns
• Mentoring junior members of staff, fostering a culture of learning and developing

The ideal candidate:

• Proven background in a similar role with hands-on experience in monthly reporting
• Strong Excel skills, particularly for data analysis
• Ability to produce monthly management accounts
• Experience working with auditors in preparation of year end and related queries
• Experience working with ERP systems (Sage 200)
• Detail-oriented approach with strong commitment to meeting deadlines
• Excellent interpersonal skills - able to communicate with stakeholders across all levels

The client is offering hybrid work (FOUR days in office, one from home) and 45k-55k depending on experience.
