Job Description - Inventory Coordinator

Job Title: Inventory Coordinator
Location: Birchwood, Warrington
Contract Length: 12 months (with potential to extend)
Start Date: ASAP
Hourly Pay Rate (INSIDE IR35): £40.00 (Umbrella)
Working Hours: 07:30 – 15:45 core hours (some flexibility available)
On-site Requirement: Fully site-based

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Inventory Coordinator to play a pivotal role in supporting high-visibility programmes within a leading engineering and manufacturing environment. This is a newly created position designed to bridge multiple teams, drive improvements, and ensure operational excellence across new product launches.
You will have the opportunity to lead on automation, streamline inventory management processes, and make a significant impact on the success of upcoming projects. This is a highly visible role with direct influence on business-critical deliverables.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders including business units, sales, marketing, and engineering teams to manage resources and deliverables across projects.
  • Oversee project progress, costs, and reporting, ensuring effective communication with all relevant parties.
  • Lead activities related to new product introduction (NPI) and inventory planning during initial release phases (up to 24 months).
  • Collaborate on parts stocking strategies and worldwide distribution plans to ensure product readiness at launch.
  • Work closely with procurement and supply chain to secure supplier support and expedite parts deliveries.
  • Deliver regular updates and status reports across multiple programmes, driving process improvements and efficiency initiatives.
About You
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and support decision-making.
  • Proven experience in inventory management, including forecasting and planning.
  • Highly proactive, with excellent organisational and planning abilities.
  • Supply chain knowledge, particularly in inventory management, is essential.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of Alteryx or similar reporting tools is highly desirable.
