IT Procurement Specialist

Role Overview:

Are you an experienced IT Procurement Specialist looking for an exciting interim opportunity? One of our largest public sector clients based in London are looking to recruit an IT Procurement Specialist to join their team on a 6-month contract. Reporting to the Head of ICT Category, you will play a pivotal role in supporting both tactical and strategic procurement activities across a diverse range of IT spend, including hardware, software, SaaS, and networks. Your expertise will be crucial in driving value for money (VFM) outcomes, ensuring procurement activities align with organisational objectives and compliance requirements.

This hands-on role demands the ability to work independently, engage effectively with a diverse IT stakeholder base, and manage multiple procurement processes concurrently. The successful candidate will demonstrate a proactive approach to sourcing and negotiating, with a clear focus on achieving commercial outcomes for the brigade.

Rate: £306.71 per day via PAYE or £400 per day via Umbrella (Inside IR35)
Location: Hybrid – 2 days per week at the Southwark office
Contract Type: 6-month contract

Person Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum of 10 years managing end-to-end procurement across various IT categories (hardware, software, SaaS, networks, etc.).
• Sector Knowledge: Proven experience within the UK public sector is essential; prior experience with blue light services or Greater London Authority (GLA) organisations is desirable.
• Qualifications: Full MCIPS qualification or working towards it is desirable.
• Skills: Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, particularly with IT stakeholders. Excellent negotiation skills with a clear focus on achieving best value for money.
• Work Style: Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a wider team. Comfortable operating across both tactical and strategic procurement levels.
• Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise reports.
