IT Support Officer

We are working with a large public body to recruit a dedicated ICT Support Officer to join their team. Reporting to the IT Manager, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing and implementing operating systems, applications, and software updates. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in IT support and administration, particularly within a Microsoft-based IT estate.
Key Responsibilities

• The ICT Support Officer will be responsible for configuring, managing, and troubleshooting the IT hardware estate, including desktops, laptops, MFDs, scanners, servers, and communication devices.
• They will assist in managing the server estate across all networks and provide Microsoft Active Directory NW account management.
• The role involves contributing to the creation and management of group policy settings, preparing IT health checks, and implementing recommendations.
• Additionally, the officer will handle ICT security issues, deliver IT helpdesk support, communicate with internal and external stakeholders, and participate in project teams and working groups.

Essential Criteria

• Must have attained a HND or equivalent in an ICT-related discipline
• At least 2 years of IT experience supporting and administrating a Microsoft-based IT estate within an organization of approximately 100 staff members.
• Demonstrable knowledge of configuring and managing ICT system security products, such as firewalls, anti-virus products, endpoint protection applications, and software patch management, is essential.
• Additionally, candidates should have experience with the implementation, configuration, and system administration of a Windows 2016 and above Active Directory-based network domain.

This role will be based in Belfast 5 days on site however there is a flexible working policy on request. Although the role is initially for a contract there is a high possibility of extension.
