IT Technical Engineer - OUTSIDE IR35 - CONTRACT

One of Reed's best MSPs clients has a requirement for an IT Technical Engineer to deliver and support technical solutions for industrial and renewable energy projects across their customer sites. Further details are as follows:

Role: IT Technical Engineer

Day rate: £300 - £350 OUTSIDE IR35

Location: North England - Onsite

Start: As soon as possible

Job purpose:

• Planning and delivering on-site installation and commissioning of services and systems.
• Translating complex mechanical and electrical drawings into actionable site activities.
• Liaising with customers, contractors, and site teams to ensure safe, compliant, and timely execution.
• Ensuring documentation is kept up to date and reflective of installed systems.
• Supporting quality and health & safety standards throughout all site works.

Skill requirements:

• Hands-on experience working in industrial environments (e.g. substations).
• Experience leading or supervising on-site engineers and third parties.
• Experience managing and coordinating installations with multiple on-site stakeholders.
• Experience in the energy and renewable energy sectors, ideally in Scotland.
• Understanding of site health & safety controls and regulatory compliance.
• Familiarity with operational technologies.

Qualifications:

• Relevant technical qualifications in IT, networking, or mechanical/electrical engineering (e.g., HNC/HND, City & Guilds, vendor certifications, or equivalent experience).
• IOSH Managing Safely, CSCS, CCNSG, or equivalent certifications.
• Able to obtain government security clearance.
• Full UK Driving License.
