Are you an early-career legal professional looking to develop your expertise in property and local government law? We are working with a London Borough Council who are actively seeking a newly qualified Property Lawyer.

Working under the supervision of senior colleagues, you will handle a range of legal matters relating to property, planning, contracts, procurement, and public law. You will manage your own caseload, assist with regeneration and development projects, and support wider council objectives with sound, solution-focused legal advice.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake a varied case load including regeneration projects, residential acquisitions/disposals, Right to Buy disposals, licences, leases, title work and basic planning section 106 agreements/unilateral undertakings.
• Draft legal documents, leases, agreements, and support committee reporting.
• Conduct legal research and stay up to date with developments in legislation.
• Support regeneration and housing projects, liaising with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Requirements

• A qualified Solicitor, Barrister, Chartered Legal Executive, or Licensed Conveyancer, or due to qualify within six months of appointment.
• You'll have some experience in property or local government law (including through training contracts or paralegal roles).
• Excellent drafting skills, and a strong commitment to public service.
• Ability to work collaboratively and manage a varied caseload.
