Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant St Helens

Your new company
We are working with a primary school located in St Helens looking for an experienced Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant to start in September. This is a full-time temporary role with the opportunity to go permanently for the right candidate. We are looking for individuals who are confident, patient, and committed to supporting the educational progress of pupils, including those with additional needs.
You will be working in the classroom helping children thrive in their learning environment whilst also providing one-to-one support and assisting small groups.

Your key duties:
-Implement systems to manage difficult behaviour
-Offer support to the classroom teacher
-Encourage pupils to be focused and involved in all activities and learning
-Observe and record children's progress, sharing insights with the teaching team
-Support children's social, emotional, and physical development
-Hold smaller support groups to assist in learning

What you'll need to succeed
-Full DBS on the update service
-An NVQ Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent qualification is advantageous but not required.
-Skills in communication, literacy & numeracy
-Attributes such as patience, empathy, creativity, and flexibility
-Experience of working with children, preferably in an early year setting
