KS1 SEN Teaching Assistant in Islington

A nurturing and inclusive primary school in Islington is looking for a compassionate and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to support a Key Stage 1 pupil on a 1:1 basis.

About the Role:
This is a unique opportunity to support a delightful Year 1 child who:

• Has a vivid imagination and a love for sensory play
• May display signs of demand avoidance and needs a gentle, flexible approach.
• Can become overwhelmed in busy environments and benefits from calm, structured support.
• Needs help with emotional regulation and staying engaged in learning activities.
  
  

What We're Looking For:

• Full-time availability (Monday to Friday)
• Experience supporting children with SEND, particularly in EYFS or KS1
• A warm, patient, and creative approach to learning and behaviour
• Confidence in using visual aids, sensory strategies, and play-based learning
• Ability to build trust and maintain consistent boundaries
  
  

Support Structure:

You'll be part of a collaborative team, working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and Inclusion HLTA.
